Frank Allan XVIII was one of the most famous cricketers of the 19th century. He was known for his aggressive batting style and his ability to score runs quickly. In November 1877, Allan led the Queensland cricket team to a famous victory over the New South Wales cricket team. This victory was one of the most significant achievements of Allan's career and helped to establish him as one of the best cricketers in the world.

Allan was born in Ipswich, Queensland, in 1853. He began playing cricket at a young age and quickly developed a reputation as a talented batsman. In 1873, Allan made his debut for the Queensland cricket team. He quickly became one of the team's leading batsmen and helped Queensland to win several important matches.

In 1877, Allan was selected to captain the Queensland cricket team. That year, Queensland played a series of matches against the New South Wales cricket team. The two teams were evenly matched, and the series was hotly contested. In the final match of the series, Queensland needed to win to win the series. Allan led the Queensland team to a famous victory, scoring a century in the second innings.

Allan's victory over New South Wales was one of the most significant achievements of his career. It helped to establish him as one of the best cricketers in the world. Allan continued to play cricket for several more years and retired in 1887. He was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in 1996.

Frank Allan XVIII was a true pioneer of Australian cricket. He was one of the first Australian cricketers to achieve international fame. Allan's aggressive batting style and his ability to score runs quickly helped to change the way cricket was played. He was a true legend of the game and his achievements will never be forgotten.
