The Miracle of Miracle on Massachusetts Street
On March 13, 1988, the Kansas Jayhawks faced the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Sooners were a heavy favorite, but the Jayhawks pulled off a stunning upset, winning 83-79 in overtime. The game was dubbed "Miracle on Massachusetts Street" and is considered one of the greatest upsets in college basketball history.
The Jayhawks were led by Danny Manning, who scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Manning was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament after leading the Jayhawks to their first national championship in over 50 years.
The Shot Heard Round the World
On April 1, 1989, the Kansas Jayhawks faced the Duke Blue Devils in the national championship game. The game was tied at 69 with just seconds remaining when Kansas guard Mario Chalmers hit a three-pointer to give the Jayhawks a 72-69 lead. Chalmers' shot was dubbed "The Shot Heard Round the World" and is considered one of the most iconic moments in college basketball history.
The Jayhawks went on to win the national championship, their second in three years. Chalmers was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament after averaging 17.5 points per game.
The Danny Manning Era
Danny Manning is one of the greatest players in Kansas Jayhawks history. He was a two-time All-American and the 1988 National Player of the Year. Manning led the Jayhawks to their first national championship in over 50 years in 1988.
Manning was a dominant force in the post, averaging 20.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game during his career at Kansas. He was also a great passer, averaging 3.6 assists per game.
The Roy Williams Era
Roy Williams is the winningest coach in Kansas Jayhawks history. He coached the Jayhawks from 1988 to 2003, leading them to four Final Fours and two national championships.

The Bill Self Era
